Did you publish it? Uploading the APK file is not enough. If you did publish it, what's the name of the app?

That's a name that's not very distinctive, and for those words much more popular apps are likely to be found first. Nevertheless, the app is there: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.virtual.yourlocation

In what way does the app qualify as "social"?

You may want to consider going for a lower API level, like level 7 or 8. Level 10 isn't supported by more than half of the devices accessing the market: http://developer.android.com/resources/dashboard/platform-versions.html

If you call it "Zaphod Beeblebrox", you're probably going to rank very high in a search for that term. But both "your" and "location" are bound to be part of 10000 app descriptions already, and every single one of those apps is (as of now) more popular than yours, and will thus rank higher.

As an aside, you should pick a package name that doesn't clash with an existing company. virtual.com is even an IT company, meaning there's a chance they might come out with an Android app at some point. Guess who's going to lose the fight for that package name you used!

Try 100 things. 2 will work out, but you will never know in advance which 2. This tiny ad might be one:
