Type 1 is the JDBC/ODBC bridge. It depends on an ODBC connection, not on a particular DB. As long as the DB in question supports ODBC connectivity,
you should be able to replace it without changing the
JDBC code. (That you should not use the JDBC/ODBC bridge at all is another matter.)
