Hi Author,
How fit is Scala for middleware application ? I am not comparing it with Java but java(or Sun/Oracle) has created a working infrastructure- JMS,Java Mail,XML transformations, parsers etc. To convince to people to go for Scala requires equivalent APIs. Scala is relatively new. Are there any use cases where we can start Scala as small and then go for bigger apps?
(any Startups who you know use Scala extensively?)

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
