What experience level is the book aimed at.

I have no experience of EJBs but know some Java and Servlets.

Would this book be any good for me as complete novice on the subject?

Thanks and good luck with the book.

Cheers Kevin.

Obviously, the authors will give you the authoritative answer, but the 2nd edition appears to be like the 1st edition: targeting those who have no prior experience with EJB and getting them up to speed quickly.

I knew nothing about EJBs before picking up EJB 3 In Action, 1st ed., and I had no problem digesting the material.

The book is indeed aimed principally at absolute beginners (like the first edition)!

Yes, as Reza said, it covers the basics and the most widely used aspects of the API.
