Hello All,

If a web service client sent a request to a web service and received an erroneous response back from the web service, should the client send a fault to the web service?

I have a case where the header I received from the web service is incorrect.  Should I send the web service a fault?

Thanks very much for your time.

A fault (or error) message is sent by the server in case of an incorrect or otherwise unserviceable request, not the other way round. If you think a WS is working incorrectly, you should contact the folks in charge of it with the details.

Thank you, Tim.  I thought I had read somewhere that in the case of a Request/Response SOAP message, the client that receives the response should send a fault if the response validation fails.

Thank you for clearing this up.
