First post. First of many questions, I'm sure.
My current employer uses WebSphere Studio (WSAD or WSSD) as an IDE. One of the things that bothers me are several of the default preferences in the tool. I'd like to be able to change the default preferences so whenever I create a new workspace my preferences will start at the same place...the place I want them to start.
Is anyone aware of a way to modify WebSphere Studio's default preferences?

Go to windows --> Preferences. Look at the bottom of the dialog box use the export button. Go to your new workspace use the import button. Alternatively there are some files in the .metadata directory you can just copy around, but I'm not exactly sure which ones, and Import/Export is probably your safest bet.

Welcome to JavaRanch, Barry!
We have a forum dedicated to WebSphere questions.
I'm moving this to the WebSphere forum...

Thanks for moving this topic. I looked and looked but for some reason missed the correct forum.
Greg, thanks for your input. I am aware of the import/export feature. I am hoping to avoid having to do this on each workspace.
For more insight, I'm actually creating a ZENworks package, which will in turn be distributed to all of our developers. My hope is that we could monkey with the default preferences to get them where we like them as a company and then provide them to all developers without the developers needing to import the default preferences.
Thanks again!
