They seem to offer beta exams for the three categories of difficulty in UML testing process.

I guess this is a premature question, but still curious, where does the test 486 match the difficulty level in the OMG's exam (I, II or IIIrd) stages.

Out of curiosity I asked the OMG for their recommended study materials.
And this is the reply they sent back.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are no study materials available at this stage.
The exam is based on UML 2.0.
The OMG specification can be downloaded
from: http://www.omg.org/cgi-bin/doc?ptc/2003-07-06
There are also a few books on UML 2.0, such as
Jesse Chonoles, James Schardt, UML 2 for Dummies (2003).
Hans-Erik Eriksson, Magnus Penker, Brian Lyons, David Fado, UML 2 Toolkit,
John Wiley (2003). Due Sept 2003
Martin Fowler, UML Distilled (Third Edition), Addison-Wesley (2003). Due
Sept 2003
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can anyone do design after learning only from these purely UML books and the UML specification ?
Well, perhaps you can as Eclipse and UML 2.0 are kind of hand-in-glove.

I guess not. One needs to have atleast an insight into acting in order to write screen plays, i.e., OOAD part

Also , well said , Jaydev.
But being rather curious , why did they bother with UML 2.0 ?
More certifications, servers to sell ?
YAGNI ,YAGNI, YAGNI ?
