Hello Ranchers,
I have been working in Java and J2EE for almost 2+ yrs. I have completed my SCJP and SCBCD. I had started the preparation for SCWCD, when i had to shift to a new company. Here my current work doesnot have anything to do with web technologies. I have the basic understanding of servlets and JSP.

But i want to do SCEA. Also my current work is related to framework development. So i think preparing for SCEA would also help me in my current work rather than SCWCD. Any comments ?

SCWCD is a waste of money and far too easy ( I am sure way too easy for you since you have such high scores in your SCJP and SCBCD).
I think SCEA will be a good challenge for you.

I'd say go for the SCEA if only because it relates more to what you're doing.

Personally, I tend to use that as my guidance for what I'm going to try next when I'm paying for certifications (hence why I'm working on my SCEA rather than stressing about updating my SCWCD or SCJP to the current versions, though that'll come soon too). I also keep in mind things my employer might need in the near future, but the more immediate needs and utility guide me usually.

Though I must say unless people get some new assignments/scenarios for SCEA it will lose its significance. Most of the existing assignment questions are already beaten to death on the net and there is very little effort involved in getting your class/component and sequence diagrams together...

Even i was thinking that SCEA is a little bit outdated since EJB 1.1 has to be used. But for my current situation, i think SCEA would help me in a lot of things for my work. Thanks for the suggestion, Ranchers.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
