I am not sure why we need to implement this method:

// Creates a new record in the database (possibly reusing a
// deleted entry). Inserts the given data, and returns the record
// number of the new record.
public long createRecord(String [] data)
throws DuplicateKeyException;

The user interface section say that you need to implement the following:
It must allow the user to book a selected record, updating the database file accordingly and search.

To use create method, I will need a screen where I ask user to enter all fields. Currently, I do not have this screen. Not sure I need it.

Can someone please tell me, where would I call this method?

Am I missing something?

Thank you

You just have to implement the create method but don't need to create GUI component like JButton to invoke that method from the GUI level.

Hope That will help you
