i am trying to delete rows i will include everything i can think of (so sorry it is so long)

why is it trying to do an update when i am trying to delete?

Edit: it has just occured to me orderId isn't even in my bean, so where did it get it from

The error message says that your orderId is null. Is it possible that you create an object without saving it to database and afterwards deleting it. This would explain why your orderId is null.
 
With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
