I wanted to load an application splash screen using manifest file, the application loads successfully without displaying the splash screen image, can anyone help? The following is the listing of the manifest file.

Manifest-Version: 1.0
Main-Class: Application
SplashScreen-Image: image.gif

Things to check:

1. Did you put image.gif into your jar file?

2. Is there a new line symbol after last line of your manifest file?

Another thing needs to be checked:
Make sure the image.gif file is placed at correct folder inside Jar file. For example, if you put image.gif under resources folder, in manifest file you should have:

SplashScreen-Image: resources/image.gif

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
