Hello Freinds,
I am developing an applet which scrolls the text in the applet window.
i used graphics image object to draw my text.
It is working perfectly but there is one problem i've to make URL to the running text(which is also at the java.sun.com the javahug applet at the left corner of the site)
My problem is that i'm not able to retreive the text according to mouse position once it is drawn by the graphics object.i don't want to use any java components like label/button
I'll be very thankful to u if u will help.

Hi Paul,
As Java Ranch is popular for Java Certification, Java Discussion, Java Tutorials.
In my view one way of gathering funds for the site is to get affiliations from the companies related directly or indirectly to Java.
IBM, COMPAQ, DELL, FLASHLINE, AOL, ATT, CRUELWORLD.COM ( FOR JAVA JOBS), CODEBRAIN, CNET ETC.
You can find all this information at http://www.refer-it.com/
http://www.befree.com/ http://www.linkshare.com/
you can obtain affiliation from IBM at this link
http://commerce.www.ibm.com/content/home/en_US/affiliates/affiliate_overview.html
Even you can contact IBM for example directly for banners ads for fixed rate advertising.
If you need more information feel free to contact me at jahanns@computer.org
Thanks.

As far I know Oracle has very good feature to store gif/jpg images in database.
Infact we need to declare datatype as longvar(I am sure about the exact data type name refere Oracle jdbc doc) which store the data in binary form up some GIGA BYTES.
Basically you will read the gif/jpg file data and put it into longvar.
when ever you want to retrieve the data same read as binary and save as file with specific extention (gif/jpg).
Oracle 7.3 has very good documentation on JDBC where you can also find above information in detail.

Hi,
I am using sun.JDBCODBC (JDK1.2) bridge to get connected to Oracle8i and every thing (regarding connection) is fine.
The problem is that the ResultSet doesn't show all the rows of the table My sql is like:
"Select Region_CD, Region_Name From YMC_Region"
I have more than 2000 records in the table but
the record set shows about 130 of them.
Please let me know How can solve this problem.
Thanks
Surendra.

I am having a problem while developing case study namely on line shopping.
There are some 6 screens in it. I have developed each screen as an applet.
Now, in the first screen there is a button, which on click will call second applet . The path for the second applet is hardcoded in to an URL object and is loaded using getappletcontext.showdocument(url) method in the action listener for that button.
Now from the second applet I am trying to connect to the server which is also in my M/c , then it is throwing security exception saying cannot connect to the IP address which happens to be my Machine IP address.
What could be the solution for this problem.
Pls. let me know
Thanks in advance
