Thanks for the valuable input Matt. It looks like i should focus more on the book and Material and getting better understanding of concepts
that on just the Mock Tests.

Will try to focus on getting the concepts straight in my head.

Thanks again.
Meenakshi Iyer.
Hi Jeff,
Thanks for all the Valuable Inputs. Thanks for offering to help.
I sincerely appreciate if you can suggest whether i am following the
right approach.

Here is my long story.

I started for preparing for SCEA Part1 2 Years back studied for some
time but due to personal problems could not move forward. Tried this
again an year back and again due to personal issues gave up.

This time i am determined to clear this Exam. But i am very confused
and feel less confident because of my previous experiences.

I failed thrice in Whizlabs Exams 2 weeks back and i am now getting 34 or 35.

I took First test http://www.moelholm.com/data/mocks/mocks_scea.xml 2 weeks
back and failed in the test.

Then i started preparing more seriously from Yahoo sites Mark cade's book
etc.

Here is my strategy for my exam. Prepare Yahoo Material from SCEA Links
thoroughly. Do Whiz lab Test every alternate day and Save the www.moelholm.com Second Test for some time next week and based on the Score move for the Exam.

The reason why i want to do the www.moelholm.com test next week is
i want to get a realistic assesment of myself before taking the exam.

Is my approach alright.

Can you please give me some tips. Because i feel terribly confused. Reading
a lot but not staying focussed. Want to get this done asap.

Thanks for all the help. I apologize for the lengthy mail.

Regards,
Meenakshi Iyer

Hi Jeff,
Hearty Congrats. Great Score. What Simulator did you use?
I am using Whiz labs. Did you use Whizlabs at all for your preparation.

If you used Whiz labs, Is it of any help to you?

What material did you use for EJBs? What did you use for II8N, Protocols
and Common Archs.

If you have not used Whiz labs what else di you use?

Are the Mock Exams helpful? Any other tips or suggestions for preparation?

Thanks,
Meenakshi
Hi Fabiano,
Congrats. Great Score. What Material did you use. What Mock Tests did you
Use? Did you use Whiz labs Material at all?

Thanks,
Meenakshi
Hi Dushy,
Hearty Congrats.Fantastic Score.

Can you give some tips on preperation for the first part.

1.Did you use Whizlabs Mock tests at all?
2.Did you use Mark Cade's Guide.
3.What did you do for EJB Prep?
4.What did you use for Design Patterns Prep?

Over all how tough was the exam compared to any Mock Tests you
took? If you have used Whizlab's Mock Tests, How different was
the Mock Exam from Whizlabs?

The reason i am asking so many questions about Whizlabs is i am
currently using them for my prep.

Also I am kind of preparing on and off for a long time. So now
for the last couple of months i stopped the prep.

I just want your suggestion on how to restart the whole thing
and what is the best way to go about it?

I am sorry for a lengthy mail. I am frusstrated because for the last
so many months i am going back and forth and have not stayed focussed
on any particular prep.

If you have time can you please give a detailed reply.

Thanks,
Shyam
Congrats Alexei. Great Score. Were the Whizlab questions helpful at all.

Especially were the Whiz lab EJB questions useful or the exam questions
are way different from Whiz lab questions.

Thanks,
Meenakshi Iyer
Thanks David. I appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Meenakshi
Hi David,
How close were WhizLib Mock Tests to the real exam.

What helped you most with the EJB Questions.

Was Ramu Meda's Notes helpful with EJB questions also.

Thanks,
Meenakshi
Thanks For Answering all my questions about Mock Exams.

Thanks,
Meenakshi Iyer
Hi Gustavo,
Good Score. Congrats.

How is the real exam different from Mock Exams. Are the really Exam
questions very tough compared to Mock exams.

How many questions you had on EJB. How many on Patterns.

Which topics are more complicated.

Thanks,
Meenakshi Iyer
Hi Vaithiyanathan,
Thanks so much for taking so much time to patiently answer all my questions.

I am pretty much stuck at a point where i dind't know what to do and
i was looking for comprehensive information of this kind for a long
time which answers all my questions in one shot.

This should keep me moving at a much better pace.

Hope i can clear Part 1 with a decent score sometime soon.

Thanks Again for the detailed reply.

Thanks,
Meenakshi Iyer

Hi Vaithiyanathan,
Congrats. fantastic score.I have a lot of questions for this statement of yours.

As everyone mentioned, the real exam is different from mock exams.
But mock exams really helped to understand the questions types.

How is the real exam different from Mock Exams. What exactly do you mean by this. Can you elaborate a little bit on this statement.

1. I have been working only on Whizlab's Mock Exams and not following
any other links in detail. I am just doing cursory reading from all
the links.Because i practised the same mock exams again and again
from Whiz labs i am getting good scores more than 80%.

I haven't tried out any other Mock Exams.

I just tried a Mock Exam from this site

http://javacoding.net/certification/scea/index.html

and it makes me feel i don't anything at all.

Is the real exam going to be this tough. The reason why i am asking you this
question is i am doing good at all Whiz Labs Mock Exams and i thought i am
almost ready for the test.

But after seeing your email i attempted a Mock Exam from this site
http://javacoding.net/certification/scea/index.html and my confidence level
has almost come down by 70%.

As some one else wrote how do i know i am ready.

Also is Mark Cade's Book Sufficient to read topics on j2ee,common architecture,
legacy connectivity and security.

How Complex are the EJB Questions.

Thanks,
Meenakshi
