Email event listener, what is the best implementation

Hello all
i need to build email listener that listen to incoming emails and invoke event when email with
particular subject is arriving .
now my question is what is the best way to implement it , is there some kind of pattern or
well known way to implement this scenario ?

How about polling the email server with a thread? Then register your action classes as Observer to this polling class.
