After I use the Quick Start to add the IBM EJB Development Environment, I don't get the new EJB tab in my workspace.
I'm using VisualAge for Java Enterprise Entry edition, which came with "Enterprise Java Programming with IBM Websphere" (One of the authors, Kyle Brown, is a bartender on this forum). BTW, the book is great!
My computer setup consists of a Pentium III 550 mhz with 384 meg RAM, running Windows 2000 (service pack 2). When I installed VisualAge, I applied the VisualAge patch that came on the CD.
Thanks!

Hmmm... That's odd -- did you get any errors when installing the EJB dev. env? You might want to try removing the feature (from quick start), shutting down VAJ, and then restarting it and trying again.
Note -- VAJ is VERY sensitive to disk space -- if you don't have enough on the drive VAJ is on that might be the problem...
Kyle
P.S. Thanks for the compliment on my book.

When I installed the first time, I got errors. I tried removing the feature, shutting down VAJ, then restarting, and reinstalling the feature again -- still not EJB tab. This time I got errors during the install process, but they were all corrected by the time the install finished. I have about 15 gig of disk free disk space. I also tried removing the Websphere test environment (after removing the EJB feature), and reinstalling the EJB dev env. This apparently triggers the installation of the Websphere Test env in addition to the EJB dev env. I'd get an error message indicating that not enough memory was available. So I just reinstalled the Websphere Test Env. Of course, I still don't have an EJB tab. I also opened the IBM EJB Samples 3.5 project, and saw that there were no problems. Any more suggestions? Should I try uninstalling VAJ, and reinstalling? I had installed patch -- was that ok, or necessary? Can I call IBM?
Thanks,
Mike

Fortunately, this happened to me. Delete all the features and add it again. That will solve your problem.
