Hi,
i am writing a simple dynamic javascript form in which the user is presented with a simple text box, on entering a name and clicking on the submit button, the name with a greeting is displayed.
now i have written a servlet that performs the necessary server side processing. i am using Eclipse IDE with an sysdeo tomcat plug-in as my servlet container.
my machine is RedHat Linux machine, where i have created a new folder named "htmlprog" in the path:"/root/workspace/ " and my HTML programs are placed in this folder.
now, in Eclipse, i have created a new Tomcat project named "formcal" and the servlet for executing the form is under "formcal".
my question is:
inside the form, how should the URI of the 'action' value be specified?
ie <form name="form1" action=" ">
...
in most of the javascritp tutorials, the value of the action tag is given as: action="servlet/HelloServlet"
the name of my servlet is FormcalServlet
this servlet is present under "formcal" project in Eclipse default workspace ie /root/workspace/

thanks in advance

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
