Hi Bill,

I read in your review of M8 and elsewhere that the Emacs keybindings
were broken. Is this somewhat fixed in 3.0?

Like you, I'm an Emacs user. I've been using Eclipse for a while for the
debugging and refactoring features but I'm still using Emacs as an
external editor because the 2.1.3 Java editor does not measure up.
Eclipse plays very nicely with an external editor but I'm wondering if
there have been improvements.

Also, don't you think that proportional code fonts are just plain weird?

Cheers,
Glenn

Hi Glenn,

I'm sorry to say that I don't know. I have decided to retrain my brain to understand Eclipse's standard key binding and live with what is not there. I tried for quite a while in 2.x and even in early 3.0Mx releases to do Emacs key bindings but they just don't work well enough to rely on them so I've just learned 'the eclipse way'.

Hope this helps!

The current Eclipse RC does seem to have fixed the Emacs keybindings back to the 2.2 level, anyway.
