Hi,

After creating a Java project, When I am adding a new folder, sometimes it adds it as PACKAGE while sometimes it adds it as a normal folder.

Can anyone explain please ?

Arijit,
If you create a folder under an existing package, Eclipse will treat it as a package. Otherwise, Eclipse will treat it as a folder. If you change your view or perspective, everything will show as a folder.

Thanks Jeanne. So what you are suggesting is that because there is always going to be a package at the top level, all subsequent FOLDER creations will be automatically converted to PACKAGES ? I am talking about Java Perspective.

Arijit,
That doesn't apply to the default package. But creating a folder under any other package would have that effect. So yes.
