J2EE Systems Analysts in San Antonio, TX.
Job Description PURPOSE OF JOB: Provides analytical, technical, and administrative knowledge in the life cycle of acquiring/developing, implementing, and maintaining information technology solutions. Consults with business partners on business requirements and specifications. Assists in the development and application of criteria to evaluate systems available in the marketplace. Provides input to recommendations for product selection. Assists in the installation, customization and
testing of purchased software. Provides analysis and/or programming support to implementation, modification and sustainment of in-house developed applications. Assists with cost and schedule estimation of work packages. Completes assigned work packages. Identifies and analyzes discrepancies and system failures. Determines solution(s), programs, tests, and implements fixes. May maintain application system environments and estimate cost/schedule of vendor releases and upgrades.
REQUIRED: Seven years experience in large systems development, with minimum 4 years in
Java development and 4 years in Internet or component-based development projects. Experience should demonstrate strong system engineering, software engineering, and application design skills in the development of enterprise-level business systems. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, along with demonstrated leadership qualities and collaborative skills. Experience in XP and UNIX operating environments, Oracle, DB2/UDB RDBMS or SQL Server, and object-oriented development languages/development tools. Experience in complex application integration environments.
PREFERRED: Experience with Java Development; Knowledge of IBM's Websphere environment and IBM Java development tools. Experience with installing, customizing, and integrating enterprise level commercial software packages into heterogeneous operating environments. Experience with large-scale, high-performance OLTP computing environments, including Transaction Processing Monitor or Application Server environments. Experience in High Availability environments, supporting 24x7 operations of business application.
