Hi,
I've just started using the VSS plugin for eclipse.. and its really cool. However, whenever I try to modify a file(and save it) it asks me if I want to do a 'check out' on that file. Logically, it seems ok. But sometimes, I'm just playing around the code and dont want to do a check out and then undo check out.(or always say 'no' for the check out)
So,
1) Is there a way, by which I can turn off this feature ? ( If I want to check out something, I can always do it explicitly, right ? )
2) Also, when I check out some file using this plug in , I can't see the "Dont get local copy" option. Is this option configurable somewhere or is this feature not present in the plug-in?

I'm using org.vssplugin_1.6.0_3.1M2 with Eclipse 3.0.1

Regards,
Sumit

Hi,
I found the option to turn off vss connectivity (or to 'mark VSS as offline'). Right click on the project, go to Team and there you are - 'Mark VSS as offline'. After this, it wont ask me again and again to check out the file whenever i modify one.
But still, i've not found the 'Don't get local copy' option. Any pointers ?

Regards,
Sumit.

Hi,

I having a problem to enable this VSS plugin in my Eclipse 3.0.1.The problem that I having now is when I try to 'set my VSS setting' (Team-->Share Project-->VSS Configuration Wizard)...It said " Unable to find any valid VSS installtion.
Are you sure that the VSS installation is not currupt?"
Basically, the VSS that I have is installed is in another machine(a file server).Even if I created a shortcut to that particular drive/dir of the VSS into my local setting, it still can't let me to click on FINISH.
At the end, it still prompt me the same error as I mentioned earlier.

Some of you might wonder why I installed the VSS in another server.Well, because we only bought 1 license for it.Others that 1 to use it, need to created a shortcut for it, then...they can access it from their local machine.
Any idea to solve this?
