Hi there!

Does anybody know about a problem with NotePad compiling Java?
I have created a tool "javac" that calls javac on the file (%f = with extension). I have also told the tool to use the working directory of the file (%d). But I just keep on seeing the error that "the file cannot be found". (It's actually in German, but translates to something like that.)

I am really frustrated here, but until I find a solution or workaround, I'll just compile in the DOS-box.

Any help would be great, thanks in advance

I would not use NotePad. A simple text editor is much better (for example, TextPad). However, you might look and see whether NotePad is saving your file as MyClass.java.txt

If so, when you do "Save As ..." be sure that the "Save as type:" (right under "File name:") is type "All Files" rather than "Text documents (*.txt)".

No thanks. We have all the government we need. This tiny ad would like you to leave now:
