Eclipse console input?

I know I've seen a solution to this somewhere a while back but, cannot remember where I saw it. The issue is that I'm running a Java based command line program that at some point solicits input from a user. However, when running the project in Eclipse the console does not allow user input making it very difficult to develop/debug a console program. So, I'm looking for a plugin or some kind of Eclipse config option that would allow such a behavior.

If you go to the console, you can type the input there. What you type in displays in green.

I have the same problem..however I dont seem to be able to write anything to the console.
Am i doing something wrong?

What happens when you click in the console? Nothing? Error message?

Also, can you show the code that you wrote to take input?

ensure your console windows is show,it's not do nothing ,you can input something ,the color is green

I have a similar problem. I am running the Jboss IDE 1.5ga on Eclipse 3.1.2.

When i deploy everything is fine. Then the program reaches a certain point and the system's outs on the console stops. nothing else is written to the console. My program uses log4j could this be the problem?

also, when i type in the console i can see it, its green, but it doesn't do anything.

ie. "shutdown -S" or "CTR + C"
will "terminate" shutdown the server PROPERLY?? (JBOSS 3.2.3)

right click on your program and choose "Run" not "Java Application" from "Run as" their you will have a window with many tabs one tab is their "(x)=Arguements" enter whatever console input you want to give.

Hi all
you can type your input in eclips console and press enter. After cursor move to next line press ctrl+z.
