Hi all,

Does anyone know how to map a key to a character in Eclipse? Or if it is even possible?

I have a new MacBook with a DE-CH keyboard. Unfortunately, characters that are important for Java programming ([, {, etc.) are unmarked and require obscure key combinations to get to...and unnecessary characters (, , etc.) are a just one click away.

So, my desire is to be able to press the key and get [.

I've googled around looking for information on OS X-level mappings...and the tweaks necessary are pretty heavy. I'd rather not do it. Also, I really only need this behaviour in while coding.

I looked "on the google" but didn't find anything.

Thanks for the input.

It's definitely possible. Eclipse provides a plugin for custom bindings. However, it might not be easy. (I don't know the details.)
