This position is on the Cinema Software team in Dolbys Professional Engineering department. Dolby is the industry leader in providing hardware/software embedded systems to the motion picture, broadcast, recording, and DVD markets. The candidate hired for this mid-level position will join a small team of software engineers and contribute to development of GUI applications on Windows, Linux, and other platforms. This is not an audio engineering position. Instead, the position requires software requirements management, user interface development, strong object-oriented software design expressed with UML or design patterns, and delivery of working GUI applications in Java or C++. These applications are critical to the setup and control of Dolby systems for existing film and emerging digital cinema markets. The position includes maintenance and enhancement of existing applications as well as new design and development in C++ or Java. The candidate hired will have an immediate impact on projects in development and should expect to take a technical leadership role immediately. This position demands a candidate capable of doing quality work against technical and schedule challenges, following strong software design and process principles, working in a central role, interfacing with product management, and coordinating the efforts of other software engineers.

Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering or science plus five years of relevant professional experience.
