Role:

As a Java Developer, you will be focusing on the development of all aspects of a J2EE application to meet client needs worldwide. You will be working in an average team size of 3, alongside other programming teams.

The head office in Australia will provide specifications for new developments. The application to be developed will be influenced by an existing Visual Basic application, and the developers of that application will be working alongside you to provide assistance as required.

Ideal skills:

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Java developer
  • Working knowledge of J2EE (EJB, JSP, Servlets)
  • Working knowledge of Java XML APIs (e.g. DOM & SAX)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative and innovative solutions to difficult and complex problems.
  • A proven track record for dedication to customer satisfaction with respect to I.S. organizations.
  • Able to develop Java Swing applications without relying on commercial IDE wizards
  • Familiarity with XML
  • Familiarity with Java
  • Sun Certified Java Developer
  • Sun Certified Web Component Developer
  • Sun Certified Business Component Developer
  • Bachelor degree in Computer science, Engineering or related fields
  • Working knowledge of standard development tools (e.g. ant, junit, cvs)
  • Highly developed English oral and written communication skills.
