I installed a weblogic plugin on eclipse. I unzipped the file at where eclipse was installed. When I click "windows" --> "preference", I saw the weblogic setting. but when I clicked "windows" --> "show views" or "show perspectives", I could not see this weblogic plugin. I am using eclipse 3.x. Did I miss anything in the install ?

Probably the RTFM step.

Sorry, that seems impolite and we try and be polite on the JavaRanch. But seriously, my experience is that with Eclipse plugins, the added features don't always leap out at you, so even if the install went clean, you may need some product-specific training to know how to use them.

Unfortunately, all too often the training/demo is some #$%#$#@*@!!! Flash animation - and Flash won't play on my 64-bit desktop.

Sometimes the plugins are specific to the version of Eclipse. Check if the plugin you have is compatible for the version of Eclipse you are using.

Secondly, after installing a plugin, it is better to start eclipse with "eclipse.exe -clean" option. This worked most of the times for me.
