Hi,
I m basically Vaibhav Deshmukh.Earlier I ve subcribed with the name "Vaibhav_deshmukh".But with your new naming convetions I tried to give "Vaibhav Deshmukh" But it said this username already exists. So I had to give "vaibhav punekar" as currently I m residing in "Pune" city in India. Now many of my friends are not able to recognize me with this name.they think this "Vaibhav Punekar" is somebody different bloody. So can you please restore my name to original.ie "Vaibhav Deshmukh" without removing "Ranch Hand" and making me again "Green Horn".If possible please make the requisite changes and restore my name.Sorry for the Inconvenience.

There is a person registered as "vaibhav deshmukh" (no underscore) whose info is found here. If that is you, you can retrieve your password (assuming you've forgotten it) by selecting the "Forget your password" link found on any page that asks for a pasword. The password will be e-mailed to the registered address, vande_v15@hotmail.com in this case. If that's not you, then unfortunately you can't have the name you want; it's been taken by someone else before you. I suggest creating a new ID which is similar to the one you want, but different enough to be accepted as a unique name. Perhaps "Vaibhav Punekar Deshmukh", "Vaibhav P. Deshmukh", or something similar.
Unfortunately, there is no way for us to transfer your total posts as "Vaibhav Punekar" to another account. If you want to create a new account, the total posts will start at zero. Our software simply doesn't support other options here. Sorry for the inconvenience; however I'm confident you can reach 30 posts again in short order if you put your mind to it. Hope this helps...

Hi,
Jim
This id belongs to me only.I m the one who has mail id vande_v15@hotmail.com.This id I created before I cleared SCJP during my study time for SCJP preparation. But then I forgot my user name and so had to create new id.So in this case my earlier postings should be added to this id postings. My username, password is same.I think even the other info will also be same.I do not want to create another account and add to the mess.So if possible get my name changed to "Vaibhav Deshmukh" keeping me "ranch Hand "only.
Thanks for immediate reply.

Vaibhav- As I said above, it simply is not possible to add your posting total as "vaibhav punekar" to another account. Note that you do not need to create a new account; simply post using the old "vaibhav deshmukh" account. Retrieve your password as necessary usin the above instructions.

Vaibhav - you wont get "promoted" past ranch hand because of the number of posting you submit. You get invited to become bartender or sherrif based on what you have done for the Java Ranch community.

Hi,
Then it is not that much easy to become bartender.I would not like to be the one if I m not that much helpful.I am learning Java technologies now.I m new in this field deviated from Mechanical Engg. degree.I m always hungry for knowledge and like to update myself.I become many a times tensed if I m not able to achieve my goal.I m a learner at this stage.I ve not gathered that much exp to help others that much.I always try to draw sth for myself through this forum. From few days back only I ve started helping others if I see I know about it.And enjoying it a lot.Only thing is that in our office it is strict rules about the internet access. It is for limited period only.So I m not continuously online.I do not have connection at home as well.Planning to get it within a month.Still whenever possible I would like to contribute. But may not be that much expected by Sheriffs because of work pressure and limited access.
Thanks for making me aware of this.Anyhow I m working on Servlets/JSP mainly.I m to become expert in anything yet.

You don't need to be an expert in anything to help out ... sometimes a question just appears that you know the answer too.
Being a bartender /Sheriff brings a lot of responsibility with it. Few of us are online ALL day but I do find my self spending more and more time here.
