Job Description

Software developer will be responsible for design and development of various applications at icrossing. These applications include web based and non-web based components. Must utilize and practice standard software development methodologies, under the guidance of the Director of Product Development. Must be willing to learn and work with other team members to support our business requirements. Must be able to work with relational databases like POSTGRES.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

� Design, code, and test a variety of custom business applications
� Work with peers to develop end-to-end testing and quality assurance procedures and plans
� Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
� Perform other duties as assigned


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

� BS in Computer Science or equivalent level of experience
� 2+ Years - Designing and developing web, client-server, or n-tier business applications
� Extensive hands-on data modeling/data design experience, and relational database experience.
� 2+ Years � HTML/HTTP, JAVASCRIPT, PHP, PERL
� 2+ Years - JAVA, Servlets, JSP, RMI, JDBC, J2EE
� 2+ Years - Database/SQL/POSTGRES Experience
� 2+ Years - Strong Linux, Tomcat, Apache, Jakarta, and UNIX Skills
� 1+ Years - XML, XSL, Web Services, CVS
� SQL performance tuning, statspack, and reporting - preferred
� Strong Analytical and Troubleshooting skills

Volunteer Experience

I worked with Dr. David Bashor of the UNCC Biology department to integrate two applications and automate data analysis. I learned hard work and dedication from this experience. It also inspired my interest in information technology.

How do you expect to get a job if you can't even follow simple instructions? I am not trying to be mean here. Just pointing out the obvious. If I were the employer here I would really second guess someone that can't follow the instructions I left for them.

Reminds me of a test I had in college once. The professor handed out the test and the first line was READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. The very last part of the instructions stated: Do not fill out any answers. Simply put your name on the test and turn it in.

Do you know how many people flunked that test because they failed to follow simple instructions? Luckily, I was not one of them.
