Java J2EE, Tomcat, Linux Developer

My client based in the City is looking for an excellent Java Developer to help finish and tweak a new codebase. The system is Tomcat with J2SE running on Redhat Linux with MYSQL. You must be proficient in the above and EJB etc are desirable. This is a high performance set-up so you will need experience in that environment. You must be technically very good and an excellent communicator who can argue there corner. Interviews will be this week starting Monday for an initial 2 months. GCS Computer Recruitment Services is acting as an employment business in relation to this.

I'm guessing that 'the city' means London in England. I could be wrong, but it's been my experience that to a lot of people in the south of England, 'the city' refers to central London ('the square mile'). The agency has offices in England and Europe.

Maybe London is the center their universe! (ha,ha!)

Interesting ... if it's a European agency, that makes sense.

I read "the City" as meaning Manhattan - in contrast to "New York City", which means all five boroughs.
