Hi

We are having a great deal of trouble finding suitable candidates for this role. Any help would be much appreciated.

Web Application Infrastructure Engineer

The candidate will work within the Web development team in Wealth Management, London. This team is responsible for development and support to implementation of Web based applications used by client advisors, financial intermediaries and end clients in Europe.

The specific role is in the Application Build Deployment and Support team of and has the following responsibilities:

- configuration, development, maintenance and support of infrastructural components of the application architecture
- support of existing and new implementations of Foton and iFOP in the region
- participation as technical expert in new implementation projects in the region; this will involve identifying and resolving local integration issues
- support of application development infrastructure including ClearCase
- packaging and delivery of applications for deployment

Work will be undertaken in the following technical areas:

- Web channel infrastructure, including physical topology, Web Server build and configuration and Websphere configuration
- Web channel application framework including JAM, SAFE RMI/JAF applications

The suitable candidate should have at least 2 years experience of working with WebSphere on Solaris in a financial services environment.

Pre-requisites:

- detailed knowledge of Websphere
- experience of supporting Web applications in Java in a financial services environment
- good working knowledge of Unix (Solaris) and Oracle
- knowledge Perl and shell scripting

Some experience of the following would also be useful:

- Java programming
- Informatica PowerCenter
