Job Description

Skills and Knowledge
� ATL/COM, ActiveX
� SOAP/XML
� VC++, MFC, STL
� C/C++
� Source Code Control (VSS, CVS, etc.)
� Visual Studio
� Rational Rose, UML
� Fortran knowledge desired
� Oracle, SQL knowledge would be an advantage
� Strong object oriented design skills

Work profile:
� 3+ years of experience in working on enterprise/database driven type systems. 5+ and 8+ for senior and principal engineers respectively
� Must have experience in at least two software development projects end-to-end.
� Responsible for the development and completion of a major system or sub-system.
� Responsible for the development of modules and components.
� Should have delivered designs from concept to completion.
� Complex GUI application development.
� Should be able to follow a systematic method and have worked within an established process.
� Should have led a group of 6-8 engineers in a multi-tier environment (senior level)
� Domain knowledge: Scientific application development
� Experience in Biotech, Pharma, Chemistry, Biology desired.
� Knowledge of CMM or experience in working in a CMM level company preferred.

Desired Profile Desired candidate profile:
� Should act in an independent manner.
� Should have participated in:
o Architectural designs
o User interface designs
o Peer reviews (design review, code review)
� Must have been responsible for:
o Detailed design/functional specification
o Coding
o Benchmarking
o Testing
o Debugging
o Documentation of programs
� Must be able to analyze, resolve, and assist in troubleshooting technical problems.
� Should have very good technical knowledge on the skills he is assigned to work on and should be in a position to guide his co-workers.
� Should be responsible for instructing, directing and monitoring the work of personnel on his/her project (senior level)
� Contribute technical papers towards corporate component architecture. (senior level)
� Should be able to mentor less experienced team members in development techniques and practices.
� Must be able to work in an environment where schedule and quality are critical.

� Should have excellent communication skills.
� Must have very good interpersonal skills.
� Must display initiative and ownership.
� Should be mature and have the ability to operate under stress and demanding expectations.
Accepts full responsibility and accountability for the projects. The individual in this position performs work according to established procedures, methods, and standards of the department.
