Exception while launching wsadmin thru ant.

Hi all,
When trying to launch wsadmin thru' ant target, it throws the following exception:

 
R:\projectroot\phase1\development\build\build.xml:57: Execute failed: java.io.IOException: CreateProcess: wsadmin.bat error=2

The portion of the build.xml looks like:

 
<target name="WAS_ADMIN" description="Starts wsadmin tool">
        <exec dir="${WAS_BIN_DIR}" executable="${CMD_WSADMIN}"/>       
    </target>

WAS_BIN_DIR, CMD_WSADMIN are set correctly in build.properties file.
Infact, similar ant target for starting & stopping WAS works fine. The following code from build.xml

 
<target name="STOP_WAS" description="Stops WebSphere Server">
        <exec dir="${WAS_BIN_DIR}" executable="${CMD_STOP_SERVER}">
        <arg line="server1"/>
        </exec>
    </target>

Any one can help me whats going on here.....?
