Hi

When I run Ant, this error occurs
E:\PROJECTSETUP\LearningSystem\WEB-INF\classes\build.xml:111: java.lang.RuntimeException: data starting at 0 is in unknown format

I get error at the following line:
webxml="web.xml"

BUILD FAILED

Here is the snippet from the build.xml

<target name="dist"
description="Create binary distribution">

<mkdir
dir="${distpath.project}"/>
<war
basedir="E:/PROJECTSETUP/LearningSystem/WEB-INF/"
warfile="${distpath.project}/${project.distname}.war"
webxml="web.xml">
<exclude name="${distpath.project}/${project.distname}.war"/>
</war>
<copy
file="${distpath.project}/${project.distname}.war"
todir="${distpath.project}"/>
</target>

Thanks

When I first read this, it didn't mean anything to me. But looking at it again, I think I saw something like that when Ant didn't think the build.xml was an XML file, so it started complaining from the first character.

Try prefixing the web.xml file with a valid XML definition:

<xml version="1.0">

You may be having the same problem with your web.xml as I once think I had with build.xml.
