n00b needs help with simple ant

Hello

This is my very first ant script and I have no real clue about this tool.

under a folder called unlocker I have two files

build.properties and build.xml

build.properties contains

do.use.unlocker=Set this line to Anything to run Unlocker.
unlocker.path="c:/Program Files/Unlocker/unlocker.exe"
unlocker.flags=-S
unlocker.dir.to.unlock="C:\\lib"

build.xml contains

<target name="_unlock_windows_files" if="do.use.unlocker" >
<echo message="Executing: ${unlocker.path} ${unlocker.dir.to.unlock} ${unlocker.flags}"/>
<exec executable="${unlocker.path}">
<arg value="${unlocker.dir.to.unlock}"/>
<arg value="${unlocker.flags}"/>
</exec>
</target>

to run I am doing this and getting the following errors

C:\unlocker>ant
Buildfile: build.xml
 
BUILD FAILED
C:\unlocker\build.xml:1: Unexpected element "{}ta
rget" {antlib  :-o	  rg.apache.tools.ant}target
 
Total time: 1 second

I would GREATLY appreciate if someone could help me in running this ant script.

The build.xml is missing a project tag. This tells Ant that we are looking at a build file and what target (if any) it should run by default. Try the following:

<project name="test" default="_unlock_windows_files">
 
<target name="_unlock_windows_files" if="do.use.unlocker">
<echo message="Executing: ${unlocker.path} ${unlocker.dir.to.unlock} ${unlocker.flags}" />
<exec executable="${unlocker.path}">
<arg value="${unlocker.dir.to.unlock}" />
<arg value="${unlocker.flags}" />
</exec>
</target>
 
</project>

Thanks, that worked.

I also had to add the tag for the properties file.

<property file="build.unlocker.properties"/>
