After working quite a bit on getting a system that was currently running windows 2000 to dual boot to linux, i figured I'd post here with my results.
http://www.lincezone.com/
There's a link on the homepage to the dual boot article I wrote regarding this.
I used Partition Magic 6.0 (EXCELLENT APP!!!) and it's Boot Magic companion to create partitions and act as my boot loader. It's pretty smooth.
Anyway, thanks for the help on the board to others who have posted on this topic - and good luck dual booting!! :-)

"choinga",
Many thanks for a really interesting article, but please note that the Java Ranch has thousands of visitors every week, many with surprisingly similar names. To avoid confusion we have a naming convention, described at http://www.javaranch.com/name.jsp .
We require names to have at least two words, separated by a space, and strongly recommend that you use your full real name. Please log in again with a new name which meets the requirements.
Thanks again.

choinga,
one of the links that your site points to is out of date. it's the linux ADSL mini howto which should be http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/DSL-HOWTO/index.html
HTH.
