Hello. I am interested in expanding my horizons toward Linux Software Engineering. I would like to ask those of you who have been developing software for the Linux platform your advice on books to read, IDE's to use, preferred Linux OS, etc. Should I use Kylix? What is the best Linux flavor and version to use for development purposes, what books are considered "Must Reads", and which are books I should not waist money on. Any other advice, suggestions, and thoughts would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

Oh...almost forgot...can anyone tell me about installation of Oracle 9i on RedHat Linux? Specifically, I am looking to hear what experiences other have had installing Oracle 9i on the Linux Platform.
