I know this question may sound stupid, but I am new into Linux/Unix , so I am not embarrassed to ask.
My Task bar does not appear in Xwindows. I have tried to change the various screen sizez and resolution. I have tried to re-install xwindows over and over. It appears the first time I run xwindos after installing it, and never again.
what can I do?
Herbert

Herb - About the only thing I can suggest is to use the desktop switching tool to swap from Gnome to KDE (or vice-versa).

Herb - Did you resolve this, and if so, please tell me how.
I know someone on another Linux forum with the same problem.
Thanks, Guy

I re-installed my system, for yet the 5th time, and this time I have the task bar. Hopefully, it is there to stay...
Herbert.
