Hi,
How can I find the IP Address of the Unix box I am working on? What's the Unix equivalent of the MS-DOS command ipconfig?

one trick that you can use is to ping another computer from you linux. Then you can read the 'from ip...'

The answer depends a bit on which sort of Unix box you are using. On Linux, for example, you can do "ifconfig" which should show you the IP address and other information of all network interfaces.

Thanks Guys.
I knew the 'ping' trick but, wanted to know this command.
ifconfig -a, worked on both Solaris and AIX. Thanks again.
