Working within the Research & Development teams, the Sr. Java Developer will be responsible for developing software for Workbrain.

The ideal candidate will be expected to:

� Be responsible for developing either back end solutions using JSP, Servlets and EJB or front end solutions using Swing dependant on the developer skill set.
� Become familiar with a Model 2 approach to JSP/Servlet development
� Assist in development of the Workbrain application interface and tool set using Java tools and technologies
� Become knowledgeable in the Software/Hardware architecture of Workbrain products, including system configuration, database schema, indexes, views, and triggers.
� Work within project teams, and customer service teams as a technical resource and contribute to successful implementations and customer satisfaction.
� Mentor and direct other members of the development team where required.
� Provide feedback on development processes and guidelines.
� Work in a team environment to maximize customer satisfaction to develop strong customer references.
� Develop detailed knowledge of all Workbrain products, product architecture, development tools and common customer operating environments.
� Provide assistance with testing and problem resolution as may be required.


� University degree in Computer Science or related field
� Minimum of 6 years experience working with Java based technologies.
� Minimum of 3 years experience of J2EE Web Application Development
� In-depth knowledge of at least one major application server (Weblogic, WebSphere, Oracle, etc.)
� In-depth knowledge of database management systems
� Good working knowledge of UNIX and NT
� Proven track record of successful management of resources and timelines
� Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written a must
� University degree in Computer Science or related field
� Programming: Java (J2EE), Back-end development, XML, CGI would be very beneficial.
� Knowledgeable in at one or more of the following areas Swing, JSP, Servlets, EJB, XML, DOM/SAX. Additional skills that would be nice to have include RMI, Sockets and Internet Protocols.
� Experience with the production of applications that function on multiple browsers, platforms and versions.
