Team,
I am a linux newbie and so i have a question which may be very silly.
The question is why do fonts in linux look so bad? i mean wether i am in the netscape /mozilla or the default text editor the fonts are bad and it strains my eyes to look on the screen.
The command line is fine though.
What is a good thing for me to do in this case ?
Regards

Hi - Here is what I know about fonts (not much really, I am command line oriented, hopefully someone else here can expand / give you more info.)
-The desktop control panel should have a place to set default fonts for the desktop.
-Unfortunately, individual apps (Netscape, Mozilla, Konqueror, Kate, ....) each have their own default fonts. Each should provide a 'options' setting where you can override the defaults.
-This means there are a number of places where you need to set new default fonts.
HTH, Guy

Guy,
Thanks for the reply. I did set different default fonts in mozilla and it still looks pathetic.
Is there any particular font that you would recommend.
