hello everybody,
I've Mandrake installed on my machine. I'm learning programming in unix environment. I want to scan through the entire i-node list, but cannot find the appropriate structures for it.
On system V there are header files like <sys/fs/s5param.h>,<sys/fs/s5filsys.h> and structures like filsys, dinode, but I am unable to find the corresponding structures and header files on my version of linux.
I'm aware of the structures like dirent, stat. But I want to scroll through the entire i-node list and scan through its entries and also the entries in superblock. Can anyone help me out?

Check out the man page for "fstat" under linux, this man page provides information for the stat structure, which might be one of the structures you are looking for.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
