I hava a server-problem: The server is still running, but it is not possible to login as root or any other user. The error-message is: /dev/tux/backup/login: bad address
Has anybody a solution for this problem?

An educated guess. /dev/tux/backup/login is supposed to be a device interface file, and now it's a file with text or data in it because someone overwrote it.
Does the hardware support access through a serial port? There may be a backdoor into the system through /dev/ttya.
What version of Unix is this? RedHat Linux?

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
