Can anyone point me to some documentation that defines how many processors a running JVM will use? I recall that JDK 1.1.7 under Solaris would only use 2 CPU's.

Will JDK 1.4 on Redhat Enterprise (Linux Kernel 2.6) use more than 2 CPUs for one java process?

Thanks.

I'd ask Red Hat about that, but generally you'd expect that the JVM would rely on the OS's underlying process/thread system and not make arbitrary limitations. Why Solars would make an exception I'm not sure I want to know.
