Hello!

Can anyone recommend a freeware that will help me in copying a .jar file to a UNIX directory please?

Thanks much!

Some random zero-install ideas:

Windows comes with a basic FTP client, so you could simply use that (if the UNIX machine is running an FTP server, of course.)

Some (older) versions of Windows come with a personal web server, and if you're running or can run that, then you can put the JAR file in the web server's files area and download the JAR on the UNIX machine via the web.

If both boxen have a floppy drive, you can write to a floppy on Windows, and mount in on the UNIX machine; many Unices know how to mount FAT floppies (Linux and Solaris certainly do.)

If the PC has a CD burner, and the UNIX machine has a CD drive, again, you can just burn a CD and pop it in the UNIX machine.

Thanks Ernest!

I was wondering about this, always thinking that to load tools like TRANG on UNIX would have to be done by the admininstrator or someone like that!

Have a good one Ernest!
