For which distribution? Most of the major vendors provide very good on-line manuals and help systems. I know this is true for SuSE, I also have been told that RedHat offers a similar high quality manual.

You may wish to look on the IBM web site, they have some good tutorials:

IBM Linux Tutorial

This is aimed at the basic certification, however it does not get too complicated. Since this is IBM, you will need to register.
