I am attempting to install the JDK on my dedicated server. It is an AMD athlon running Fedora core 1. After I ftp the file, I verify the file size (in each case, it has been the same). I set the mode to +x and run the install program. It takes me through the licensing agreement, requesting me to type 'yes' when complete. Then it flashes 'Unpacking...' and 'Checksumming...' and fails, reporting that the file is corrupt. The same thing happens when I try the 'rpm' file (never expands the .rpm). I have also tried downloading an alternative JDK. Still the same result. I am executing the install as 'root' from the '/usr' directory. By the way, all the files installed correctly on my local linux box (Intel w/Fedora Core 3). Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
