hi,
i am running Mandrake 10.1 community release, i have installed jdk1.5 and have extracted cldc and midp. i have also set the PATH, CLASSPATH, JAVA_HOME, CLDC_HOME, MIDP_HOME environmental variable.
but when i run the midp command in the shell i get an error saying that
"Unable to load fonts"
i tried running a midlet too but i get the error saying
"Unable to load fonts and a segmentation fault"
i installed the wireless toolkit (WTK2.2) and found that that works very fine. can someone help me with the former so that i can find the what i am missing cos i prefer the first form of development to the wireless toolkit.

Thank You
Regards
Simon

We've got a forum for J2ME and a forum for Linux, so this thread definitely belongs in one of those. I'm going to move it to Linux, I think. Hopefully someone there will be able to help.

To make things easier why don't u download netBeans 5 IDE, Its runs on Linux ,Its free and its the best IDE out there for J2ME,it might not provide an answer to your question, but hey i believe in going through the easy way
