Sorry for crossposat, however solution may require more Linux expertise than Java or CORBA. IOR of objects created on Linux are 127.0.0.1 IP base, although the same objects have valid IP when created inside the same code on Windows machines. I heard some words as reverse DNS, however I'm completely newbie here. Can somebody help with right Linux networking. Linux macine has name and IP and can be reached from other machines using name or IP.

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/idl/jidlFAQ.html#linuxior

suggests, to change the /etc/hosts file, or the name service configuration file: /etc/nsswitch.conf
