I have downloaded and decompressed chmview-1_2.tgz file.But i am not knowing how to install it and use it.I tried to install kchmviewer but when i executed ./configure command, i had an error saying "checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!".

What linux-distribution are you using?
Depending on that, we can probably advice simpler installation-methods.

Your current error occurs, because you don't have the sources for X11 installed, so you need to install them first, which means searching (for the correct version...) and might not be the last package to be installed first.

Red hat .And i checked out.X11 is installed.Is there any other way to make sure that X11 is properly installed?

i found that kchmviewer best works in fedora 3


./configure --with-kde
make
make install

Yes, X11 is installed, but the sources for X11 aren't, because the X11 where installed as binaries.

Perhaps you find a .rpm, which will be easier to install.
