javac from within VIM on WinXP  RSS feed

Hi all - this is my first time in the saloon but certainly you will find me hanging out here a lot ...

My first problem occeured when I configured my working environment that is in my case the VIM editor on a WinXP box. I am not a very skilled WinXP user cause my prefered OS is Linux so I might need help with the Win OS in some cases.

I want to compile my testapp.java from within vim, by doing
:compiler javac
:make

But this doesn't work (in vim - when I compile manualy on a terminal with javac testapp.java it works). "Doesn't work" means there is neither a testapp.class after the compile nor any error message.

:clist gives me "No errors"

The message right after the compile reads like this:
:!javac >C:\DOKUME~1\Office\LOKALE~1\Temp\VIe8.tmp 2>&1 Shell gab 2 zurueck


Has anybody here javac running from inside VIM on WinXP (this seems to be Windows specific) and provide me with some pointers?

Hmmm. Well, this isn't a Java question at all, so it doesn't belong here. We don't have a specific "Windows" forum to move this to, and I don't know that it would really belong there, either.

Even though you're using Windows, I'm going to move this to our "Linux/UNIX" forum because the vim experts are most likely to look there. Head over to that forum and see what happens!
